We traveled three days down to Jackson, TN. We spent the Fourth of July weekend with our kids as we were passing through. It was fun to see Josiah settling into his life and being with Vivian as she is working through the summer. We needed to get the oil changed while we were in Jackson. The morning I got up, I had an unusual occurrence. When I started the truck, I heard the serpentine belt squeak, then a bump, and I saw a squirrel run out from under the truck. I didn’t think anything about it until the AC stopped blowing cold, and I had no power steering. It was at that moment that I knew that something was wrong. I opened the hood, and the belt was off, and there was squirrel fur all over the place. He had somehow gotten sucked into the belt between the belt tensioner pulley and the belt and derailed it. That was a tow truck ride and an expensive oil change. On the 9th, we left Jackson, TN, and spent the night in Dothan, AL, arriving in Eustis, FL, on the evening of the 10th. During our travel from Dothan to Eustis, we had a blowout on the side of I-75. We were able to change it and get back on the road, but this was the first time this had happened, so it got my heart pumping. After leaving Eustis, FL, we started heading North. On the second day of our trip, we had another blowout. We were able to change it quickly and get on the road. We have been blessed that each time we have had a blowout, it has been in an area with room to change it safely. We still have a few more days of travel. Please keep us in your prayers.
