We Are Finally In Salmon, ID!

While we were in Jackson, TN, our truck had some mechanical issues. The shop said they fixed it. I got an hour down the road on my trip to Idaho, and it was clear that it was not fixed. I limped it into Benton, AR, where my parents live. I spent most of May with the truck in a shop and calling all the shops that had worked on it, trying to figure out what was going on. They were all stumped, and there was no solution in sight. I ended up driving it down to Texas and trading it in on a new truck. I left on May 22nd from Benton, AR, and arrived in Salmon on May 24th. My dad came along on the trip, and I was thankful for the company. I was surprised how much these onboard computers help with towing. It really took a lot of stress out of travel days. Thank you for all your prayers for safe travels.

In Other News

While we were in Benton, Cara’s dad (Ken) was scheduled for a regular heart procedure. During that process, it was determined that he needed quadruple heart bypass surgery. Shortly after Ken’s surgery, Cara’s mom (Connie) had a heart attack and was taken to the ER, where it was determined that she would need triple heart bypass surgery. So, only eight days after Ken’s surgery, Connie had surgery. I think she just didn’t want to be left out and had a two-for-one coupon. Cara and her sister (Kenna) have been with them, providing care. The grandkids have shown up when they can to lend a hand. In the middle of all of this, Ken and Connie were scheduled to move into another apartment nearby. So, Cara, Kenna, and the grandkids have moved the ailing patriarchs to their new abode. It has been a crazy few weeks. Please pray for everyone involved and for Ken and Connie’s recovery.

1. We are currently looking for some places to work in 2027. If you know of a place in the Midwest or Southwest that could use someone partnering with them for a few months, please let us know or give them our info.

2. We are in need of raising more support for our work fund. Due to rising fuel prices and costs for this kind of work, we are actively reaching out to congregations to be a part of this work starting in 2027.
